What do we do?

We do planning, buying, direct mail, press, outdoor, television, ambient, cinema, radio and mags.

MediaCom is responsible for planning and buying the advertising for some of the world’s biggest companies – among them Procter & Gamble, Shell, Glaxo Smithkline, Royal Bank of Scotland, Nokia, Masterfoods, VW and Universal.

So what is planning and buying advertising?

Well, the first thing that we do, using various research techniques at our disposal, is to determine with our clients who their most likely customers might be. Having done this, we are now able to calculate which media these potential customers see, read or hear the most . This allows us to "plan" an advertising campaign, that reaches our intended audience, with the minimum amount of wastage.

Having written the "plan", we now work alongside creative agencies, who actually make the ads. Once these are made, it then becomes our job to get the ads onto the television and into the different newspapers etc.

This is what we call the buying of media, where we negotiate the best possible prices with the television and radio stations, newspapers, magazines and outdoor companies for the space or airtime bought.
